Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so roughYou didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number,
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Have a great week ahead

Who is Joyce Bryant?
Not many people can easily recall her name along with famous great singers blues/jazz singer of the 40's. This is probably because she wasn't given much commercial air time, not just because she was black but because her music and style were considered too risque for the public.
Renowned for her four and a half octave range, she was most notably famous for her stand out style - that is, her signature silver hair and fitted clothes which adopted when she had to perform along side Josephine Baker. Apparently, she didn't want to feel upstaged so she decided to re invent her style by dousing her hair in silver radiator paint, silver nails, silver mink coat, all silver everything.
Queen of body con provocative outfits, her style and demeanor spewed sex, and i love it. I love that she stood out from the rest, and that makes her a diva bombshell in my book.
Famously known as the bronze blond bombshell and the black Marilyn Monroe, Joyce Bryant the oldest of seven children was born in Oakland, but raised in San Francisco. Married and divorced by 14, and by the 40's she was at the peak of her career. By the mid 50's she quit her music career for religious reasons and enrolled at oakland university where she became an evangelist. Not the typical diva ending, and not much is known about her later life, but im glad she found her calling.

“There is something magical about watching a man who has lost himself find his way back home...He sang with the kind of power people no longer expect from rock ‘n’ roll singers.”
-John Landau, Review of "Elvis" (1968 TV Special).
“Elvis is iconic; a lot of performers today look to that for inspiration.” -Beyonce'
“Elvis is the greatest cultural force in the twentieth century. He introduced the beat to everything, music, language, clothes, it’s a whole new social revolution - the 60’s comes from it.” -Leonard Bernstein, 1960s
“A lot has been written and said about why he was so great, but I think the best way to appreciate his greatness is just to go back and play some of the old records... Time has a way of being very unkind to old records, but Elvis' keep getting better and better.”
- Huey Lewis
“Elvis was the king. No doubt about it. People like myself, Mick Jagger and all the others only followed in his footsteps.”
“He was a unique artist - an original in an area of imitators.” -Mick Jagger
“Before Elvis, there was nothing.”-John Lennon
“A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man’s music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis.” -Jackie Wilson
Elvis Presley died 34 years ago today, the 16th of August. What a huge loss to music and the world (yes i am a huge fan ^_^). He has inspired so many other greats and did great music - he truly is earths biggest music legend. So thank you Elvis for the music.

The fashion world is no stranger to controversy, matter of fact...it thrives on it. Lately, the news about the 10 year old model (yes i said 10), thylane loubry blondeau's vogue phootshoot has got the news world and fashion fans alike debating on how young is too young. Personally I am all for doing art for art's sake, but i have certain boundries in which i would not condone or partake in, so once i heard the news of the 10 year old model in sultry, sexy poses for vogue Paris, a well respected magazine for that matter, i rushed online to view them to judge for myself.
Upon seeing them, my first thought was....ummmm there are TV shows and celebrated pageants showcasing younger girls in adult make up and sexy clothes - so why isn't the media hammering on them. While the photos are certainly mature, and sexy to say the least...i have seen worse overlooked by the news media. The pictures arent really as bad as the news claimed, and the intentions where done for fashions sake. Now on the other hand, If it were up to me, i wouldn't expose a girl at that age to anything remotely sexy, nude or in provocative posses for any reason whatsoever.
So, is thylane loubry blondeau's picture to sexy for her age?
